Hello, I am Theodore H. (Ted) Rockwell, and I have lived in Steamboat Springs
for about half of my life, about 20 of the last 28 years. I love this area and Colorado
in general, not only for the natural beauty and skiing, but for the great people!
Speaking of GREAT "Boat People"!
Sometime in the very early eighties I began to hear of an amazing young skier from my
circle of friends. I only knew him as Nelson, and everybody spoke highly of him.
I met him at a few gatherings back then, and he was always treated like a celebrity when he arrived.
In the nineties we became friends by playing hockey in the local A league,and through his sister Kathy,
he was, and still is a very talented and polite hockey player, egotism has never been in his nature.
It was great to see him on TV, both commentating and competing, sometimes in the same event,
and then see him at a hockey game or just around town, and ask him about the world's ski scene.
Even after all these years and hundred of people I have spoken with about Nelson,
to this day I have yet to hear a negative word about him. He has always been very good natured,
even tempered and copasetic with everybody that I know, he deserves every bit of his success,
and I am honored to be his webmaster and friend!
